by | on Jul1 2012

Zipitus Maximus

We at HoloSuite are happy to kick off a new feature in our community. The Under-Appreciated artist of the month! This project aims at getting the names out into the world and pimping them out so they’ll gain some notice, jobs, and with luck, hit it big! Our first artist is Zip Alegria, an artist I’ve personally followed for about a year. I’m happy to call Zip a friend, I’ve helped him print his books, I’ve also helped him purchase his Engagement Ring, an item that was purchased with many assisting dollars from commissions (of which I got quite a few >.>). Zip is quite the awesome individual, but I won’t let myself bore you with the details. I’ll let him! Take it away Zipitus Maximus!

My name is Zip Alegria, I get asked often is it’s a nick name. Well let me set the record straight and say, yes, it is my real name. My Grandfather and my Dad are named Cipriano, and people could not pronounce it right. So everyone just called them “Cip” and I guess over the generations people Got lazy and just settled with Zip.

Now as to what I do, well my Ninjaz, I am an Illustrator, comic book artist/creator, concept artist, and bad ass vigilante by night. I have been drawing (and fighting crime), since I was able to hold a pencil (sword). I had the luck of having a mom who said, “That is very good!” to everything I drew and my dad who was the harshest critic, I love him for it and I think that was a good combo in encouragement.

Nial Strumla for HoloSuite’s own Alastor.

Where am I from? Well  I am from South Padre Island, Texas. Yes there are Islands in Texas. when I was 21 (i think) I moved to California, and attended the Art Institute of San Francisco California, for a while until Instructors, professionals, family, and friends helped me make my decision to withdraw. It was the best decision I could have made (lol). After staying In the bay area for a while I moved back to San Antonio, In the Lone Star State, since the Comic book and entertainment industry seem to be booming at the moment. Working for several Independent games as a concept artist and independent films as a storyboard artist and illustrator, I’ve decided to make My art be a Full time job. Since moving back to Texas however, I have decided to go back to my Love of Comics and Create my book that I have been working on for a little over a Decade named, Crimson Blade. I am Currently Self Publishing but have several publishers interested in my book, so I might not be self publishing in the end. Yay! I am reaching for Late a October release date for the first graphic novel of Crimson Blade, I am Excited to finally tell this story, and I promise you it is something to be excited for.

The life of an artist Is pretty hard on the finances, which is why , as much as i wish I could do it for free, I have to charge for my work.

The Secret World – Running Polaris Elite

After successfully completing The Last Train to Cairo mission during the Golden Weekend in The Secret World, we collectively decided to go into an Elite dungeon. The choice fell on Polaris. We numbered five: Galactrix (Healer), Xander (DPS), Rowan (DPS), Maiastas (DPS), Antida (Tank) Some members of the group, who shall remain nameless, were not as convinced that we’d make it. For those of you not familiar with the Beyond The Veil crew, you tell us we can’t do something or we’re not good enough to achieve something, we’re going to find a way to do it to prove you Read more →
