Tribbles in Ecstasy take 74: To grind or not to grind?
This week we have a serious discussion over what makes a foundry mission a legitimate mission or an exploit.
Take a listen as we discuss our love of Star Trek and STO in a casual and friendly atmosphere. Tribbles is a Community based weekly talk show sponsored by TrekRadio.net, Subspace-Radio.net and HolosuiteMagazine.com. Be sure to tune in Friday, 6pm EST on livestream.com/holosuiteexcess for our live show and listen to our audio remastered shows on Subspace-radio.net on Wednesdays at 12pm EST and TrekRadio.net at 7am EST.
Follow with us in our IRC chat room at HolosuiteMagazine.com or in STO’s game chat at “holosuite”. If you wish to add our IRC channel to any Apps, add #holosuite from the Coldfront.net server. Any questions, comments or ideas about our show, please write to us.
Looking for a fleet? Look us up in Star Trek Online. We have two very fun fleets. On the Federation side it’s Tribbles in Ecstasy, and on the KDF it’s Targs in Ecstasy.

1. To grind or not to grind?
Recently the STO forums exploded over heated debates from foundry authors and average players, over what’s being considered by some as the new incarnation of “clicker” missions.
Before we begin our reviews for this week I would like to touch back on our review for ”Spectres, Episode Six” by HippieJohn from last week. There is indeed a THIRD bartender in Drozana from the past, in the room where you come across Scotty. So his reference to the third bartender in the back room has NOTHING to do with Cassidy, who’s merely a hopeless alcoholic.
1. “The Honour of Profit” by Bazag.
Level Requirement: 16+
Mission Summary: Just how much honour is there in seeking profit? Is profit its own reward? In this mission, explore the seedy side of the Klingon Empire with Ferengi Merchants, shady Orions and the well-known, one-of-a-kind Varon-T Disruptor.
2. “The Syndicate Extraction” by Galactrix.
Level Requirement: Any
Mission Summary: An operative with information about the Orion Syndicate needs to be extracted from a deep cover operation. Starfleet would like you to perform this task.
1. When Did You Become a Star Trek Fan?
To quote our dear friend, Spock, we found the results of this week’s StarTrek.com poll… fascinating. We asked “What age did you start watching Star Trek?” and it will be no surprise to most over 12,000 fans say they started in childhood.
2. Star Trek Into Darkness Super Bowl Ad
It was a super Super Bowl Sunday for Star Trek fans. That’s because a new spot for Star Trek Into Darkness premiered during the second quarter of the gridiron matchup between the Ravens and 49ers on CBS.
Now for something completely different
1. Can’t-Miss Stargazing Events in 2013
The year promises a bevy of comets, eclipses and other celestial events of note — and we’ll tell you when (and where) to look.
2. David Tennant Back For Doctor Who’s 50th Anniversary?
We don’t know just how they’d pull it off, but Bleeding Cool has heard from a solid source that David Tennant will be returning to Doctor Who.
4. Ryan Gosling Turns to Matt Smith for How to Catch a Monster
Ryan Gosling has cast the lead in his directorial debut, How to Catch a Monster, and it’s someone with quite a bit of monster-catching experience. Variety reports that “Doctor Who” star Matt Smith will star opposite Christina Hendricks and Eva Mendes in the fantasy adventure.
4. Spider-Man movie gets an obvious title.
Via the film’s Facebook page, Sony Pictures has issued a press release confirming the title of director Marc Webb’s follow up to last summer’s “The Amazing Spider-Man.” It is… wait for it…
“The Amazing Spider-Man 2!”
