Nude Modding in the 25th Century

by | on Aug21 2012

Virtually since gaming’s inception, most gamers have modded their favorite games, and Star Trek is no stranger to modding. We here at Holosuite know that modding in STO is a direct violation of the EULA, but it would appear that one industrious player has decided to cash in on a nude mod for STO. If you give this player one million energy credits he will give you the mod from the forums.

“Why don’t you tell us why you have a folder full of pics of various players you took using a nude mod, probably without their knowledge?” another user posted upon discovering the pictures.
“Incidentally I took a screenshot of the directory and also mirrored the entire thing, so don’t bother trying to remove or hide it. Also, that ad for the in game nude patch is reeeeally classy.”

The forum thread has been removed and with it all hope of seeing these pictures. I’m so not telling how to get in contact with this player. Breaking EULA and aside from the moral implications of taking pictures of a players’ chatters nude without the persons knowledge, makes my head hurt. There’s the trouble with this game being family friendly and the amount of kids and tweens that could get a hold of this is staggering but hey, that’s my opinion, what’s yours?

We numbered five: Galactrix (Healer), Xander (DPS), Rowan (DPS), Maiastas (DPS), Antida (Tank) Some members of the group, who shall remain nameless, were not as convinced that we’d make it. For those of you not familiar with the Beyond The Veil crew, you tell us we can’t do something or we’re not good enough to achieve something, we’re going to find a way to do it to prove you Read more →
