by | on Nov9 2011

G & T Show episode 21 is now available for downloading. Check it out here. This week Nick and Teri discuss their all time least favorite episodes of Star Trek. Before getting into it, they talk about some of the issues that has made many Star Trek Online Players Pon Farr angry.

Then, they described their two fan fiction writing contests: Teri’s Fan Fiction Contest; and Nick’s Kill Terry Shull Contest. Teri officially announced that David Reddick will be personally creating the caricature that will be awarded as the prize for Nick’s contest. Be sure to check out David’s comics: Trek Life, Legend of Bill, Rod N Barry, and Gene’s Journal.

Also, Nick is still getting great feedback and comments from the community for the Halloween photos of him in a skant. (Look for it at STLV 2012). They moved on to the news surrounding the upcoming JJ Abram’s Star Trek film, such as the completed script, Benicio Del Toro is being recruited for the lead bad guy, and Klingons! They begin speculating about some of the possibilities that this news may mean for the future of Star Trek.

Nick reminds everyone to tune in Wednesday night at 9pm for his show, Impressions of Sound – this week is part 2 of soundtracks. Then, they continued their Star Trek Las Vegas 2012 news. Several more stars have signed on or agreed to make an appearance, including Pulaski herself! They’re still holding out for Jelico (Ronnie Cox) to make an appearance this year.

Nick announced that he has finished reading James Swallow’s Cast No Shadow and encourages everyone to read it and share its ups and downs with him and the author. He’s about to start reading David A. McIntee’s Indistinguishable From Magic. Then, Teri reminded us that Michael Martin’s interview will be coming soon. Post your questions for him here.

IDW’s comic books Star Trek Origins featuring the JJ-verse is considered to be canon in the new timeline. They go on to talk about the latest issue involves the Gary Mitchell story without Dehner. Support Mary Czerwinski’s desire to Make Me Dehner. The issue evolves into a lengthy discussion of Abrams (and company)’s inability to write women, which leads to even more speculation. Support the OMG Cancer Summit. Then, they announced that due to Nick dropping the ball this time that there will not be an Ask Dayton this week. Stay tuned next week as it will reappear next week. Sorry Dayton.

Without further ado, they move on to their least favorite episodes of Star Trek. Teri chooses Hollow Pursuits from Season 3 of TNG, which introduces Reginald Barclay. Although, Nick loves his character, Teri does not. Before moving on to Nick’s pick, he inquires on Teri’s progress watching through Star Trek Voyager. Nick’s least favorite episode is from Voyager, Favorite Son, where Ensign Kim believes that he is a long lost alien from a civilization of soul sucking she-vampires.

Before finishing up this week’s episode, they remind everyone to participate in their latest contests. Support Mary Czerwinski and David Reddick’s projects. At the time that this episode is posted, the interview with Keith R A DeCandido will be recorded. It will air next week, so stay tuned. There may be a special guest host next week, as Teri will be at Epcot for the Food and Wine Festival.

Finally, Teri tells us that work on Star Trek Reunion is back on track now that Star Trek Online’s Foundry has stabilized. She suggests everyone check out the teaser, and look forward to the Christmas release of Star Trek Reunion episode two – Come Babel or High Water.
