G & T Show 18 – Data & Inspirations
This week on the G & T Show, Teri and Nick discussed Data and their inspiration in their fan fiction writing. Give it a listen here. But before getting into it, Teri informs us that there will not be an Ask Dayton this week due to a hectic schedule this week. She reassures us that next week Ask Dayton will return with a new question. So stay tuned. Their contest winner was announced. Congratulations to Soriedem. Next, they discussed an email they received concerning the Prime Directive. The conversation evolved into the discussion of Lt. Commander Data.
The technical difficulties plagued the early part of the discussion on their fan fiction inspiration. Once the issues were resolved, they made a few announcements, such as next week’s show will be delayed for their iTunes listeners and downloaders due to Soriedem being out of town. Teri also announced that on November 13th, she will be in Florida for Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival. Speculation began as to who the Special Guest host that week will be. Stay tuned to find out. Before returning to the topic of their writing inspirations, Nick announced that the G & T Show’s forums had received their first stalker.
Then, Teri recommended everyone to check out Kate Mulgrew on Warehouse 13. Nick mentioned an interview with the Hollywood reporter about Seth MacFarlane’s desire to reboot Star Trek and return the show to its roots. He will also be producing a reboot of Carl Sagan’s Cosmos with Neil Degrasse Tyson. Teri’s fervent dislike of Christain Bale broke Nick heart. But, in true G & T Show tangent switching, Nick announced his fondness for last week’s episode of Big Bang Theory was hilarious with Brent Spiner.
As usual, they asked their listeners to support a wide range of projects including the OMG Cancer Summit, and Mary Czerwinski’s Make Me Dehner. Teri also provided teasers for an upcoming project that the G & T Show in conjunction with Trek to the Troops for a Star Trek Book Drive. So stay tuned for details in a future episode of the G & T Show. Finally, Nick concluded this week’s show asking everyone to tune in to his new show Impressions of Sound on Wednesday nights at 9pm EST. It’s 80’s week!
